Invisalign
Crooked teeth are unsightly and difficult to clean properly, but traditional braces can be uncomfortable and embarrassing to wear.
Fortunately, Dr. Matthew Turner can provide patients of all ages in the Kansas City, MO, area with the discreet Invisalign® system.
Why are so many patients choosing Invisalign over metal braces?

The Benefits of Invisalign
Discretion
Invisalign aligners are crafted from clear BPA-free plastic. Most people will not even notice you are wearing them.
Comfort
Invisalign offers a more comfortable orthodontic solution than traditional metal braces that use brackets, wires, and rubber bands. Traditional braces require frequent and sometimes painful adjustments. Invisalign aligners apply gentle force to your teeth with minimal discomfort and require less frequent visits to our office.
Convenience
Because the clear aligners are removable, they offer more convenience than braces. There are no “off-limits” foods to get stuck in the brackets, such as caramel, taffy, or popcorn. Being able to remove the trays also makes cleaning and caring for your smile much simpler.
Speedy Results
Invisalign treatment can sometimes be completed in half the time of traditional orthodontics. Most Invisalign treatment plans straighten teeth within six to 12 months, or even shorter time periods during express treatment. Traditional orthodontics can take two years or more.
What Is Invisalign?
Invisalign is an orthodontic solution that uses a series of customized aligners made from BPA-free plastic to gradually (and discreetly) correct minor to moderate dental misalignment. This cosmetic treatment is virtually invisible and is suitable for both teens and adults looking for an inconspicuous alternative to fixed braces. While braces require bonding brackets and wires to the front surface of your teeth, Invisalign aligners are clear and form-fitting, yet easily removable. During a consultation, Dr. Turner can determine if this treatment is right for you.

How Does Invisalign Work? A Treatment Timeline
In most cases, Invisalign treatment can be completed in only six to 12 months.
Other Invisalign Options
In addition to traditional Invisalign, our Kansas City dentist also offers Invisalign Teen and Invisalign Express. With Invisalign Teen, the clear aligners have a blue indicator dot to help patients know they are using the trays properly. When the dots fade, it's time to begin wearing the next aligners in the series. In case aligners are lost, this orthodontic treatment includes six extra replacement trays.
For patients with minimal crowding or spacing issues, Invisalign Express can deliver results in about six months or less.
Am I Too Old for Invisalign?
Absolutely not! No one is ever too old for orthodontics, and Invisalign is often a better option for working adults than braces because the clear aligners are discreet and removable. At our Blue Springs dental practice near Kansas City, MO, Dr. Turner has treated patients of all ages with the Invisalign system, even adults well beyond retirement age. We firmly believe that it is never too late to work towards a healthier, more beautiful smile.

Invisalign Cost
The cost of orthodontics varies from case to case based on the severity of the misalignment. In general, treatment with the Invisalign system at our Kansas City practice costs somewhere between $3,750 and $4,500.
Today, many insurance plans will contribute to the cost of this treatment. However, if your plan does not cover this solution, or if you are uninsured, our dentist partners with CareCredit® to make it affordable. CareCredit is a healthcare lender offering low-interest and interest-free payment plans. With this financing, patients can achieve a straighter smile for as low as $160 a month.

The Oral Health Benefits of Orthodontics
Our Kansas City dentist recommends this solution to patients with dental misalignment not just because it provides a cosmetic improvement, but also because it improves your oral health. When teeth overlap or are crooked, food and plaque can become easily trapped, increasing your risk of tooth decay and gum disease. On the other hand, when teeth are properly positioned, it makes brushing and flossing more efficient and results in better oral function.
